Our man on the ground didn’t take out the single eliminations today at the Freestyle Kiteboarding Nationals but we love him and his updates anyway, read on…
Day two of the 2015 Freestyle Kiteboarding Nationals started out with some wind for the Under 18’s finals. Matt Buchanan was a standout landing some powered tricks in his first heat. All the riders rode really well in the conditions. Luke Smith took the singles title in end followed by Ryan Parsons who was also putting his tricks down, Matt came in 3rd with Aaron Kenny in 4th, these riders all smashed it!
The riders took it to the next level in the Men’s Division, Simon Wichtermann pulled out the first Back Mobe 5 for the event, and Declan was stomping his backside 313s. The young guns also pulled out some impressive moves with Manny Blanch nailing his signature Front to Blind. And also Kye Evans pulled out a huge Kite-loop 3. Again all the riders rode really well. The final heat came down to Simon Wichtermann and Declan McCarthy. Both of these riders stomped some huge scoring tricks. In the end Simon ended up winning the heat and the single elimination. Well done to both finallists! Luke Smith came in 3rd, Manny Blanch 4th and Kye Evans and James Bedford tied for 5th. The double eliminations will hopefully be held on Sunday.
